girls love to decorate stuff around when they feel bored... like their rooms, closet (hehe... in another way), kitchen, shelves, boyfriend (play dress-ups?). and it's a norm to have too much stuff going on and might at the end look a bit tooo much.

textile artist Magda Sayeg founded Knitta Please - a knit graffiti group credited with spawning the international yarn bombing movement (it's on June 11 this year!). Magda continues to install her work around the world in commissioned exhibitions and on her own renegade travels, in addition to hosting workshops, teaching classes, and leading community projects.

i'm loving her attitude to make the world look colorful and happy =)

and they have done this installation in The Blanton's Faulkner Plaza - the trunks of all 99 trees in between the museum's Michener and Smith buildings have been covered with colorful yarn, crafted by over 170 local volunteer knitters. great community effort to spice up the space with beautiful harmony with the nature

i wanna be part of it... but i need to pick up knitting again first... don't wanna leave holes all over.... wonder if they are interested to come to hk... this is just fun and exciting!

: Marni - Secret Garden :

inspired by the Italian metropolis, the courtyard of Marni’s flagship store on via della Spiga in Milan was  transformed into a garden during Salone del Mobile 2011. This temporary secret garden is full of various delicate plants and unique furniture made of recycled bases.

film artist Sara Rossi was invited to create images of Lanterna Magica Spring - projected in the garden every evening, making the garden a magical one. The plants will be donated to schools for educational projects and to green public space restoration in Milan after Salone del Mobile.

a very nice and feminine "live" installation, which is very inspiring with all the visual effects. it can be turned into a lovely print pattern =)

it's every girl's interest to appreciate and try on shoes... especially elegant, well fitted ones. Ferragamo is having a shoe exhibition in the prestigious Palazzo Spini Feroni, curated by Stefania Ricci and Sergio Risaliti, until March 2012. be it a marketing campaign before getting listed (are they still preparing to get listed in HK??), or simply a showcase of the quality works of the master, it's totally worth going if you are in italy.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6n8s-wnZ2M]

The over 255 pieces, displayed in rotation, including  99 models that Salvatore Ferragamo realized from the Twenties to the end of 1950, will be paired to 156 works of art from private and public collections, Italian and international: the aim is to stimulate a reflection intertlacing art, history and couture, strictly connected to the name and the heritage of  Ferragamo, in a  backward  journey searching for his sources of inspiration.

British designer Stephen Jones has created 3 hats which will be showcased in the exhibition as well.

Sandal, 1957

Ballerina, 1953-57

Laced Shoes, 1936-38... I LOVE this one! can't believe they have beautiful shoes like this in the 30s!

i feel strange at this moment... feel like a little fan of a rockstar who does wild and crazy things...

my bf is in aussie now doing shitbox rally, which is organized by his friend to raise money for cancer fund. very cool idea as participants get donations and have fun driving in a 'shitbox' out of scrapyard for 7 days straight.

: Alexander McQueen - Savage Beauty :

Lee Alexander McQueen once said, “Life to me is a bit of a Brothers Grimm fairytale”. Sadly, it turned out to be a dark tragic that ended on Feb 11, 2010 with his suicide. A year on from the tragedy, the Costume Institute in New York pays tribute to the amazing designer to put together an exhibition 'Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty', which opens on May 4 - tracing the evolution of McQueen from his Jack the Ripper-inspired 1992 MA collection right through to the wondrously tender collection based on the art of Hieronymous Bosch that was to be his finale.
